PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), the massively popular battle royale game, is joining forces with the sensational K-pop girl group NewJeans.
In an electrifying collaboration with Krafton, the developers behind PUBG, NewJeans is bringing their fresh and energetic vibes to the battlegrounds.
What Can We Expect from the PUBG NewJeans Collab?
While the full details of the collaboration are still unfolding, fans can expect a collection of exclusive NewJeans-themed cosmetics and in-game items.
If the PUBG Mobile x Blackpink collab from 2021 is any indication, we might be treated with virtual concerts, outfits, voice lines, and other goodies inspired by NewJeans’ hit songs like “OMG” and “Hype Boy.”
A glimpse of what’s to come has already been teased by PUBG on X (formerly Twitter), featuring the five NewJeans members – Danielle, Hanni, Haerin, Hyein, and Minji – sporting the iconic bunny hats and beanies from their “OMG” music video.
The poster also showcases colorful crates and chests, hinting at special loot boxes filled with NewJeans-inspired swag.
Who Are NewJeans?
For those unfamiliar with the K-pop sensation, NewJeans is a girl group formed by ADOR, a sub-label under the giant HYBE Labels.
Since their debut in July 2022 with the chart-topping single “Attention,” they’ve been making waves with their fresh take on pop and R&B, heavily influenced by 1990s and 2000s styles.
Comprising five members – Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein – NewJeans has already racked up several hits, including “Super Shy,” Hype Boy,” and “Ditto.”
When and Where Can You Join the Fun?
The PUBG NewJeans collaboration drops on June 12, 2024, for PC and June 20, 2024, for consoles.
This isn’t NewJeans’ first foray into the gaming world, as they previously performed “GODS,” the anthem for the League of Legends World Championship 2023.
