Video game developer Level Infinite has announced that the mobile MOBA title Honor of Kings will host a $3 million tournament called the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason at the Esports World Cup.
This tournament will feature 12 teams competing for a share of the prize pool and an opportunity to qualify for the International Championship later in the year.

Who are the confirmed participants?
Level Infinite has announced that a Chinese Honor of Kings roster called KPL Dream Team will be the first invited team to the Invitational Midseason.
This roster is said to consist of top players from China’s King Pro League, Honor of Kings’ franchised tier-one competition.
Further participating teams have yet to be revealed, but the winner of the Invitational Midseason will qualify for the Invitational Championship.

Joining the Esports World Cup aligns with Level Infinite’s and Tencent’s goal of bolstering Honor of King’s esports ecosystem in 2024.
In January 2024, Tencent revealed a plan to expand the Honor of Kings as International esports.
The developer plans to invest $15 million in MOBA to expand its reach globally, given the game’s immense popularity in China.
