Netflix is planning on converting its popular shows such as Squid Game and Wednesday into mobile games. Netflix’s plans is to increase its mobile gaming offerings and solidify its foothold in the gaming industry.
These games, compiled under the “Netflix Stories App,” will be developed under studios that Netflix recently acquired and target both casual and hardcore mobile gamers
The Previous Netflix Show Turned into a Game
Love is Blind is one of the first addition to Netflix Stories which was released on September 19th, 2023. Developed by Netflix’s own Boss Fight Entertainment, it is a life simulation game based on the popular dating reality TV series, where contestants court each other by speaking through a wall, never meeting face to face, and staying “blind” until there’s been a marriage proposal. The game will let you create your character’s look, choose how to engage with some of the dating drama, and make decisions on propositions from a virtual suitor.
Indeed, Netflix has a history of adapting its successful shows into games. When the company first announced its gaming ambitions back in 2021, it debuted with two puzzle and adventure games inspired by the hit series Stranger Things.

It is important to note that they were not particularly labeled under “Netflix Stories,” and were launched separately on the App Store and Play Store by Netflix.
Additionally, in December 2022, developed by Nanobit, the “Too Scorching To Deal With: Love is a Recreation” game based on the Netflix reality show Too Hot Too Handle was released.

La Casa De Papel: The Game
Despite the conclusion of the much-celebrated Money Heist series on Netflix, the streaming giant has revealed its intent to further explore the franchise’s potential.
Alongside the release of a Korean spin-off and the ongoing development of a Berlin spin-off, a thrilling video game adaptation is also in the pipeline.
Colombian video game studio, KillaSoft is supposed to develop, this highly anticipated game.
Rebel Moon Mobile Game
Super Evil Megacorp, the gaming studio renowned for Catalyst Black and Vainglory, has partnered with Netflix to create an exclusive game based on the Netflix movie, Jack Snyder’s Rebel Moon.
This ambitious project is envisioned as a ‘transmedia’ franchise, with the mobile game acting as a key component of the overarching storytelling experience.
The gameplay will be a four-player co-op action adventure.
Squid Game Mobile Game
If you ask which was the most recognized Netflix’s most groundbreaking series to date, then we definitely say Squid Game which garnered massive global acclaim for its gripping storyline and immersive portrayal.
Building upon this monumental success, Netflix has announced the development of a mobile game adaptation, promising to bring the intense thrill and suspense of the series directly to players’ fingertips. However, Netflix has not provided any details about its gameplay or release date.
Wednesday Mobile Game
Netflix has unveiled its plans to introduce a mobile game based on one of its most-watched English-language TV series of all time, Wednesday.
The game is likely to be released before season 2 to capitalize on the success of its preceding season and to create hype for the upcoming season. At present, details regarding its gameplay mechanics are not available.
Shadow And Bone: Destinies
Amid the excitement surrounding the ending of Shadow and Bones’s second season, Netflix has further heightened the excitement by revealing plans for a video game adaptation.
Building upon the success of the enthralling series, the game, titled Shadow and Bone: Destinies, is expected to offer you an immersive and interactive experience of Grishaverse.
In addition to this, Netflix is also bringing the Virgin River, Emily in Paris, Perfect Match, and Selling Sunset into Netflix Stories. The company is also converting its anime shows into games to attract a diverse audience base.
Netflix Expanding Its Gaming Portfolio
With over 90 games currently available on its platform, Netflix is poised to continue expanding its gaming library in upcoming months.
According to insights from the Wall Street Journal, Netflix’s gaming endeavors have swiftly propelled the company into indie publishing, strengthening its reputation as an agile player in the gaming industry.
