This perplexing sensation will immerse players in the upcoming story-driven pixel art RPG “Dreamed Away”, arriving on Xbox Series, Xbox One, Steam, and Nintendo Switch in early 2025.
It is a solo project by French game creator Nicolas Petton.
Pineapple Works, a game publisher from Poland, is helping Nicolas Petton bring Dreamed Away to life.
They started a Kickstarter campaign on February 1st, 2024 to support the game’s development and game promotion.
Dreamed Away blends gorgeous retro visuals with riveting storytelling to deliver an unforgettable adventure that explores thought-provoking themes of dreams, reality, and the subconscious mind.
It is Inspired by classic RPG greats like EarthBound and modern psychological thrillers like Omori.
Set in the 1990s, it tells the story of Theo, a young boy searching for answers after waking up to find his family missing and his home transformed into a lonely, rainy dreamscape.
As you guide Theo through beautifully-crafted pixel art environments, you’ll unravel the mysteries of his surreal dream world, uncover clues to the disappearance of his sister Louise and parents, and face suspenseful encounters with sinister nightmare creatures.
With its blend of emotional narrative, strategic turn-based combat, and spine-tingling horror elements, Dreamed Away aims to offer an unparalleled immersive RPG experience when it drops on the Nintendo eShop in early 2025.
