Perseverance Returns with New Counter-Strike Tournament for North America

Perseverance League

Canadian esports organization Perseverance Gaming is stepping back into the gaming scene with the launch of a new Counter-Strike tournament series, the “Perseverance League“.

This tournament, created in partnership with Take Flyte, is set to run from mid-November to the end of January, as per the dust2.us.

With a prize pool totaling $43,500, the league is designed to showcase emerging talent in North America’s esports landscape and is a new venture for Perseverance as they re-enter the market.

The Perseverance League arrives after a difficult period for the organization. Earlier this year, Perseverance was forced to postpone its $100,000 Perseverance Cup LAN, originally scheduled for August, due to the sudden passing of one of its founding members, Andrew. His loss has deeply impacted the organization, and this new league represents their renewed effort to make a meaningful impact in the competitive Counter-Strike scene.

The league is organized into three divisions—Persevere, Champion, and Coliseum—each with a different prize pool and competitive level.

  • Persevere Division: $25,000 prize pool (16 teams)
  • Champion Division: $12,500 prize pool (24 teams)
  • Coliseum Division: $6,000 prize pool (24 teams)

Each division will follow a similar tournament structure, beginning with a best-of-three (Bo3) Swiss-style group stage before moving to a single-elimination Bo3 bracket for the playoffs.

The tournament schedule is ambitious, as all divisions are set to kick off on November 16 and run through January 31. This timing has generated some concern among the esports community because it coincides with major events, including the Perfect World Shanghai Major Americas RMR. This scheduling overlap may prevent North American teams that participate in the Major from joining the Perseverance League, as they may still be in China during the league’s opening week. Additionally, the league runs through the Winter Player Break, a period typically reserved for rest, meaning players may have to forgo downtime to compete in the league.

Further details about the Perseverance League, including registration information and event logistics, are expected to be announced in the coming days. Teams interested in participating can sign up for a fee of $50 per team.
