The eagerly awaited sequel to the Subnautica series, Subnautica 2, is set to launch next year for Xbox Series X and S, as well as for PC through the Xbox Game Preview program.
For those subscribed to Game Pass, the new title will be available right from its release day.
This fresh addition promises to deliver an exciting new adventure that takes players beyond Planet 4546B, introducing an uncharted world filled with lush landscapes, fascinating creatures, and hidden secrets waiting to be unveiled.
With its blend of exploration, survival, and thrilling encounters, the game offers a journey that players of all levels can enjoy.
One of the game’s most eagerly awaited features is the co-op multiplayer mode, allowing up to four players to dive into the adventure together. This mode opens up the world of Subnautica to collaborative exploration and teamwork, enhancing the social aspect of the game. This aligns with publisher Krafton‘s shift toward a “game-as-a-service” approach which it said increases the replayability of the game. However, the developer, Unknown Worlds, later clarified that the game will not feature season or battle passes, nor will it require a paid subscription.
For those who prefer the classic solo adventure, the game retains a single-player mode, ensuring the same level of depth and challenge for those who want to brave the alien planet alone.
