The Bengaluru Starbusters, led by popular content creator Red Parasite, emerged as the champions of THE FINALS League, a groundbreaking esports tournament, organized by Skyesports. After a fierce competition, they claimed the title, defeating the Ahmedabad Meteors, led by Tanmay “ScoutOP” Singh, who finished in second place. The Starbusters not only secured the trophy but also took home the lion’s share of the $10,000 prize pool.
Reflecting on the victory, Red Parasite highlighted the team’s focus on fun and camaraderie, saying, “We had an amazing time at THE FINALS League. Even if we had lost, it wouldn’t have mattered because we made incredible friends and built a great vibe together.” He also encouraged aspiring esports players to get involved: “There are plenty of opportunities with THE FINALS team hosting more tournaments in India. If you’re looking to break into new games, this is the perfect place to start your esports journey.”
THE FINALS League, based on Embark Studios’ popular FPS title THE FINALS, featured a unique “Cash Out” mode. In this mode, four teams of three players each battle to eliminate opponents and secure as much cash as possible before the timer runs out. The innovative gameplay quickly gained traction in India, adding to the excitement of the tournament.
The event began with a player auction where team owners and captains representing 10 different cities selected their squads, which included both professional players and influencers.
The tournament ran from September 14 to 25, with the teams competing in a double round-robin Group Stage. The top 8 teams advanced to the Playoffs in October, following an IPL-style eliminator format, which culminated in the final battle between the Bengaluru Starbusters, Ahmedabad Meteors, Punjab Asteroids, and Rajasthan Galactics.
