The Esports World Cup 2024 (EWC) is getting bigger and bigger and this time one of the biggest fighting games – Street Fighter 6 joins the league.
It will be featured alongside other popular titles such as Counter-Strike 2, StarCraft II, Dota 2, Free Fire, Overwatch 2, EA Sports FC, Mobile Legends, Honor of Kings, and PUBG Mobile.

Why is Street Fighter 6’s Inclusion Significant?
Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 joins the EWC lineup as the first fighting game franchise to be featured in the event.
This inclusion is hardly surprising, considering Street Fighter 6’s involvement in last year’s Gamers8, another Saudi Arabian esports festival with a staggering $45 million combined prize pool.
The game’s popularity and Capcom’s commitment to the competitive fighting game scene make it a natural fit for the EWC.
Prize Pool of Tournament
While the specific prize pool for the Street Fighter 6 tournament at the EWC has not been revealed yet, we can expect it to be substantial.
Other games like Mobile Legends’ Mid Season Cup, Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason, and PUBG Mobile World Cup will each feature a whopping $3 million prize pool, while Free Fire has confirmed a $1 million tournament.
While Street Fighter 6 may be the only fighter announced so far for EWC 2024, it’s a safe bet that more games (probably Tekken 8) will follow.
