Sony has started testing an exciting new PS5 beta update that aims to enhance your gaming experience in several ways.
This update includes improvements to the DualSense controller, new social features, and more control over your PS5’s settings.
As an avid gamer, you’ll want to learn all about the changes this update brings.
Boosted DualSense Speaker and Mic Quality
One of the biggest improvements is enhanced audio quality from the DualSense controller.
Sony updated the controller firmware to increase speaker volume for game sounds and voice chat.
The microphone also got an upgrade courtesy of AI machine learning.
This suppresses background noise from button presses and in-game audio for clearer voice chat.
New Social Options for Share Screen
The PS5’s Share Screen feature now has some cool social additions.
Friends watching your shared gameplay can place pointers, send pings, or draw on the screen.
This allows them to easily highlight objects, areas, and guide you through tricky sections.
Viewers can also react with emojis, though you can disable pointers and reactions if needed
Adjustable Power Indicator Brightness
While minor, the ability to control the PS5 power indicator brightness is welcome.
Choose from dim, medium, and bright settings based on your preference and gaming setup.
This lets you reduce potential distractions and glare from the light.
Unfortunately, fully disabling the indicator isn’t an option.
How Can You Get the Beta Update?
This PS5 beta update is currently rolling out to selected testers in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, and Japan.
Sony emailed invites to participants starting today.
The update will likely reach all PS5 gamers globally in the coming months.
