What is the Candy Crush All Stars Tournament?
It is an annual competitions for casual gamers hosted by the game’s developers, King (under Activision Blizzard) since 2021.
It’s a fierce competition where Candy Crush enthusiasts from around the world battle it out for a chance to claim the coveted title of “Candy Crush GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) and a massive cash prize.
How Big is the Prize Pool?
This year, the stakes are higher than ever, with a jaw-dropping $1 million prize pool up for grabs which is 4X of last year’s $250,000 prize pool.
The top 10 players will battle it out at the live finals in Los Angeles, with their share of the prize determined by their final placement.
Who Can Participate?
Here’s the best part – anyone can participate!
All you need is to be at least 18 years old and have reached Level 25 or higher in the Candy Crush Saga app.
It’s that simple, and it’s completely free to enter.
Tournament Format
The Candy Crush All Stars Tournament follows a multi-stage format, designed to test the skills and endurance of even the most seasoned players. Let’s break it down:
Stage 1: Qualifiers (Until April 5th, 2024)
The journey begins with the qualifiers, which are open to anyone who meets the age and level requirements.
From March 28th to April 5th, 2024, players will participate in a series of leaderboard challenges within the Candy Crush Saga app.
The top performers from these challenges will advance to the next round.
Stage 2: Knockout Rounds (April 6th – April 20th, 2024)
The intensity ramps up in the knockout rounds, where the competition becomes a true battle of wits and strategy.
Between April 6th and April 20th, players will face off in a bracket-style format, with each round featuring increasingly difficult challenges.
Only the cream of the crop will survive this grueling stage and secure a spot in the live finals.
Stage 3: Live Finals
The top 10 players who emerge victorious from the knockout rounds will be invited to compete in the live finals in Los Angeles.
The live finals consist of a series of rapid-fire challenges, testing the players’ ability to think on their feet and make split-second decisions.
Each round will whittle down the competition until only one player remains – the undisputed Candy Crush All Stars champion.
Road Ahead
Todd Green, the General Manager at King, expressed his excitement about the tournament, stating,
“We’re bringing together people who love our game for a tournament like no other. We’re bringing a record-breaking prize pot to level up the rewards and to continue to surprise and delight our players.”
Last year, 51 year old New Yorker Jay Simunovich was named Candy Crush All-Star 2023, taking home $100,000 and a specially crafted bling-tastic championship ring from celebrity jeweler.
The first and second runnerup won $50,000 and $30,000 respectively,
