AI-driven VTuber Neurosama has set a new record on Twitch, surpassing the previous highest Hype Train level ever achieved on the platform.
On January 1, 2025, Neurosama’s Hype Train went all the way to Level 111, breaking Pirate Software’s previous milestone. The record-breaking stream drew an audience of over 16,000 concurrent viewers, ending in 143,844 subscriptions. This achievement now places Vedal’s Twitch channel 8th on the all-time subscriber rankings.

Created and managed by popular coder Vedal, Neurosama is an AI VTuber designed to entertain audiences with quirky, often unexpected reactions to chat messages. This combination of humor, intelligence, and occasional unsettling responses has earned Neurosama a devoted fanbase of nearly 700,000 followers.
Previously, game developer Jason “Thor” Hall, widely recognized by his brand Pirate Software, held the record for the largest Hype Train on Twitch. In April 2024, he set an impressive benchmark by amassing over 54,000 subscriptions and 8 million bits during a single stream.
In response to Neurosama’s record-breaking feat, Pirate Software has already announced plans to reclaim the title. In a statement, Jason Thor Hall praised Vedal and the Neurosama community for their success but made it clear that he intends to rise to the challenge. “I cannot stress enough how awesome Vedal and their community are,” he said, before teasing his return with the words, “On April 1 at 10 AM PT, the goblins will return fire.”
