The 2024 Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship, organized by Samsung Electronics, wrapped up with the Philippines’ team Castawake emerging as the champion, claiming the title and the $8,000 prize money.
Following closely, Malaysian teams CSC and Myth Avenue Gaming took the second and third places, respectively, showcasing the high level of talent within the Dota 2 community across Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The Odyssey Cup, a premier event in the Southeast Asian esports scene, brought together top amateur and professional Dota 2 teams from across Southeast Asia (6) and Oceania (2). Held from October 10 to October 13 at the Hatten Hotel Melaka in Malaysia, the event was a battleground for eight finalist teams, all competing for the regional championship and a share of the $20,000 prize pool. The playoffs was a Double-elimination bracket, with all matches are best of three except the finale (which was the best of five).
Standing:
- 1st Place: $8,000 – Castawake
- 2nd Place: $4,000 – Crayon Shin-chan
- 3rd Place: $3,000 – Myth Avenue Gaming
- 4th Place: $1,500 – Hunghung and Friend
- 5th-6th Place: $1,000 each – Dominator Esports, Manta Esports
- 7th-8th Place: $750 each – Soymilk, nocylinder
Samsung also used the event to highlight its 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 gaming monitor, demonstrating its commitment to advancing gaming technology.
The 2024 Odyssey Cup attracted a large online audience, with fans across the region tuning in to watch the action live. For fans attending in person, the tournament offered an exclusive watch party at the Alto Sky Lounge, hosted by Hatten Hotel Melaka. This event drew a diverse crowd that included government officials, media, influencers, and dedicated fans.
