Samsung Electronics has announced the highly anticipated Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship

Samsung Electronics has announced the highly anticipated Odyssey Cup, the Dota 2 Championship tournament, for Southeast Asia (SEA) and Oceania region.

Building on the success of previous events like the Odyssey Cup Influencer Invitational and Campus League, this $20,000 prize pool tournament will bring both pros and amateurs on a single stage.

Individuals over the age of 18 from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, New Zealand, and Australia can now register to participate.

The Odyssey Cup will also act as a showcase for Samsung’s latest innovations in gaming technology, including the 32-inch Odyssey G8 OLED monitor and the 27-inch Odyssey G6 OLED monitor.

How is the tournament structured?

The Odyssey Cup features a multi-stage format designed to identify the cream of the crop in Dota 2 talent:

  • Southeast Asia Qualifiers: Two rounds featuring six teams each from Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, The Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
  • Oceanic Qualifiers: Two teams from New Zealand and Australia will compete for spots in the next stage.
  • Pro Team Challenge: Qualified teams will face off against four invited professional teams.
  • Grand Finals: The top-performing teams will battle it out in Melaka, Malaysia.

When are the key dates for the Odyssey Cup?

  • Qualifiers: September 21-25, 2024
  • Pro Team Challenge: September 28-29, 2024
  • Grand Finals: October 10-13, 2024
