Ubisoft’s tactical shooter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is entering Year 9 Season 2.
Hence, Ubisoft has unveiled a mid-season roadmap for the upcoming season promising some exciting updates and improvements to keep the game fresh and engaging for its dedicated player base.
A Revamped Marketplace
One of the most significant updates on the horizon is the global launch of the in-game Siege Marketplace.
Previously in beta, this marketplace is set to become a hub for players to buy, sell, and trade various in-game items, breathing new life into the game’s economy.
Doubling Down on Anti-Cheat Measures
In the upcoming Season 2, Ubisoft aims to target cheaters on the Steam platform to ensure that all players have a fair and enjoyable gaming experience.
With this change, Ubisoft intends to make it more difficult for cheaters to return to the game once they have been banned.
Ubisoft also stated that as the new addition to their anti-cheat system is still in the development phase, it will be rolled out in several iterations, with the first part scheduled for release in Season 2.
Balancing Updates
Upcoming balancing updates for the operators Fenrir and Solis will ensure that the game remains fair and engaging for all players.
Since both Fenrir and Solis are two of the best defenders in the game, Ubisoft has decided to balance the duo.
The first balance update will arrive in Season 2, while Solis is set to receive further adjustments in Season 3.
Standard Playlist Map Filters
A brand-new filtering feature in the Standard Playlist will allow players to target their favorite maps with ease.
New Player Map Training List
Ubisoft hasn’t forgotten about new players either.
A fresh map training playlist, including the “Endless Drill” mode and other tutorials, will help newcomers get up to speed quickly.
Reputation System Revamp
Ubisoft has decided to keep the Reputation System, best described as a morality system in its beta version for a bit more.
The system was first announced back in 2020, but its full release has been continuously delayed.
It is expected to be fully deployed to the game in Year 9 Season 4.
This system aims to promote positive behavior while discouraging any toxicity.
It also helps players understand when an action is seen as disruptive and why it is considered as such.
After-Action Screen 2.0
Ever wished you had a more detailed breakdown of your performance after a match?
Say no more, because Ubisoft is introducing the After-Action Screen 2.0 in Season 3.
This nifty feature will provide you with an accurate and insightful recap of each match, helping you identify your strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
Stay Tuned for More Revelations
And that’s not all! Ubisoft has promised to reveal even more juicy details about the upcoming changes in a grand reveal scheduled for May 26, during the BLAST R6 Manchester Major.
