The developers of Pokémon GO have announced that support for 32-bit Android devices (mostly released before 2015) will officially end in 2025.
This move aims to streamline the game’s development and shift focus toward supporting newer technologies and operating systems, according to a recent blog post by Niantic.
Starting in March 2025, players using 32-bit devices who downloaded the game from the Samsung Galaxy Store will no longer have access to Pokémon GO.
For those who downloaded the game from the Google Play Store, support will end in June 2025.
After these dates, players will lose access to their accounts, items, and PokéCoins unless they log in on a compatible 64-bit device.
Devices affected by this change include older models such as:
- Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, J3
- Sony Xperia Z2, Z3
- Motorola Moto G (1st generation)
- LG Fortune, Tribute
- OnePlus One
- HTC One (M8)
- ZTE Overture 3
- Most Android devices released before 2015
While this decision may inconvenience some players, it reflects the broader trend in technology toward retiring older hardware to focus on innovation.
