Palworld’s new Steam patch v0.1.3.0 fixes crashing, glitches, and more. Should you download it? Learn what it changes.
Palworld has quickly become one of the most popular games since launching in January 2024.
The monster-catching survival game evokes comparisons to Pokémon but brings its own twisted take with themes of Pokemon with guns.
While hugely successful, Palworld’s launch hasn’t been without issues.
However, the latest patch aims to address many of the persisting problems.
What’s New in Palworld Steam Patch v0.1.3.0?
The major highlights of the new Palworld patch include:
- Fixes for crashes: Palworld has suffered from crashes and save data corruption, especially when reaching around 7,000 captured Pals. The patch implements an initial fix to prevent crashes at high numbers of Pals, though saving data from before the patch may still fail to load.
- Resolves capture exploits: A glitch allowed players to capture weakened Pals from other players/bases. This is now fixed.
- Stops Pals glitching into walls: Pals would sometimes get stuck in walls during combat charges. No more!
- Base Pal improvements: Base Pals had hunger issues, getting stuck, and pointless behaviors like cutting already-chopped trees. The patch addresses these problems.
- Key binding options: You can now bind mouse side buttons and numeric keypad keys.
When Can Xbox Players Expect the Patch?
The new Palworld patch is out now on Steam, but Xbox players are still waiting.
The developer says the Xbox update will arrive “as soon as it is ready.”
Xbox Game Pass has been the most popular platform for Palworld with over 7 million players.
However, Xbox lags behind Steam in patches and features like dedicated servers.
Microsoft recently vowed to provide more support and resources to Pocketpair to close these gaps.
What’s Next for Palworld After Launch Success?
Despite the controversy, Palworld has exceeded sales expectations with over 19 million players across platforms.
It dominated Steam’s top-played chart and drove record Xbox Game Pass engagement.
While still fixing launch issues, Pocketpair is likely looking ahead to new content and improvements. Some possibilities include:
More Pal variety and customization
- Expanded world and biomes
- Multiplayer and base features
- Quality of life tweaks based on player feedback
Overall, Palworld is shaping up to be one of the most impactful indies in recent years.
And the stage is set for plenty of post-launch support.
