By Sagar V. Mankar Microsoft has unveiled an eye-catching floating Xbox controller and a special edition Dune-styled Xbox Series S console to promote the upcoming release of Dune: Part 2.
These exclusive devices are part of a new collaboration between Xbox and Warner Bros. and will be given away through a promotional sweepstakes.
Floating Xbox Controller
The most intriguing part of this new Dune hardware lineup is the Xbox controller that appears to magically float in mid-air.
The futuristic-looking device features a large sandy base that likely contains hidden magnets that enable the floating effect.
While Microsoft has not provided details on the inner workings of this trick, similar floating stands can be purchased for around $60.
So this is likely an illusion achieved through strategic magnet placement rather than true anti-gravity tech.
Special Edition Xbox Series S
Along with the floating gamepad, Microsoft also created a uniquely styled Xbox Series S console modeled after Dune.
The exterior grill features a pattern made to resemble the sandy dunes of the desert planet Arrakis.
The console also comes with a stand shaped like the iconic Royal Atreides Ornithopter featured in the sci-fi franchise.
This creatively designed hardware doubles as functional decor that any Dune fan would love to have in their home.
Like the controller, this specially decorated Xbox Series S is a promotional item not intended for retail sale.
How Can Fans Get Their Hands on the Dune Xbox Devices?
To get a chance at winning the floating Xbox controller and Dune-themed Series S console, fans must enter the Xbox Dune: Part 2 Sweepstakes before March 25, 2024.

Dune Content Also Added to Microsoft Flight Simulator
In addition to the sweepstakes, Microsoft Flight Simulator is receiving Dune-related content as well.
A free Dune expansion adds both Arrakis and the Royal Atreides Ornithopter from the series into the game.
The DLC includes tutorials on flying the Ornithopter along with themed time trials and missions.
So players can explore the desert planet for themselves and pilot Paul Atreides’ signature aircraft.
Dune Crossover Continues into Gaming
This Xbox collaboration is the second major Dune crossover in gaming ahead of the franchise’s highly anticipated second installment arriving in theaters on March 1, 2024.
Last December, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 added Dune-inspired operator skins.
Now Xbox is upping the ante with its sweepstakes featuring this uniquely designed hardware.
