Grand Theft Auto Online continues to engage players and rake in revenue for Rockstar Games, even a decade after its initial release.
The secret? Regular content updates that give players new gear, modes, and cosmetics to enjoy.
The latest update leans into upcoming February holidays like Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day, offering themed rewards, bonuses, and gifts.
Celebrating Lunar New Year in GTA Online
To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, Rockstar is bringing Lunar New Year themes to GTA Online.
Players can unlock two new dragon masks, the Regal and Midnight, by completing challenges and collecting hidden caches across Los Santos.
Players will also have another chance to unlock previously released Lunar New Year items like the Wooden Dragon Mask, Red Lunar Dress, and Black Lunar Tee.
Simply log in between now and February 14 to automatically receive these items.
As an extra gift, all players will get a Red Envelope containing GTA$188,888 deposited directly into their Maze Bank account within 72 hours of logging in during the promotional period.
With prices inflated in GTA Online, this cash infusion lets players purchase new weapons, vehicles, and property.
What new Valentine’s Day items are in GTA Online?
In honor of Valentine’s Day, logging in anytime before February 14 will net you stylish new heart-themed sunglasses.
Red and yellow heart shades are free for all players, while those who take on the Bodyguard role can also earn some snazzy purple heart shades.
Players looking to get into the Carnival spirit can score the Carnival Sun Dress, Carnival Bandana, Bigness Carnival Sports Tee, and Bigness Carnival Bucket Hat just by playing GTA Online over the next week.
More Ways to Earn Bonuses and Gifts
On top of the holiday cosmetics, Rockstar has added plenty of chances to earn bonuses:
- Shotgun Wedding and Till Death Do Us Part modes provide 3X GTA$ and RP
- Increased diamond spawns in Diamond Casino Heist
- Red and yellow Truffade Adder supercar as Lucky Wheel reward
- 2X GTA$ and RP for Transform Races
- Free dragon tattoos from parlors
For players who routinely revisit GTA Online, these frequent updates and holiday tie-ins help keep the experience feeling fresh.
