Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 may be over a decade old now, but it remains one of the most popular games today.

While fans eagerly await the release of GTA 6, a new mod has brought one of the sequel’s protagonists – Lucia – to GTA 5 early.

This mod offers an exciting sneak peek of what’s to come in GTA 6.

Popular modder Sergio Van Dyk has created a GTA 5 mod that replaces NPC models with Lucia, one of the main protagonists revealed in the recent GTA 6 trailer.

Not only does the mod add Lucia as a playable character, but Sergio also impressively recreated the entire GTA 6 announcement trailer shot-for-shot within GTA 5 itself.

Meticulously crafted, this fan-made trailer highlights just how far gaming technology has advanced when directly compared to 2013’s GTA 5.

The leap in graphics fidelity, lighting, animations, and detail easily seen side-by-side is remarkable.

While Rockstar continues polishing GTA 6 for its rumored 2024-2025 launch, mods like Lucia keep fans engaged until release.

For those eager to experience Lucia’s character model themselves, Sergio’s mod can be downloaded to replace NPCs in GTA 5’s PC singleplayer.

This won’t work online or on multiplayer servers, but it’s a fun way to get a small sneak peek of what awaits in GTA 6 while we continue the long wait.

And with GTA 5 still ranking among Steam’s most-played games, modders play a pivotal role in maintaining its relevancy.
