Major exclusives like God of War (2018) and Marvel’s Spider-Man have already made the leap, finding success with PC port.
Sony has been bringing more and more of its exclusive PlayStation games to PC in recent years. So when can we expect the smash-hit God of War Ragnarok to make the leap?
While Sony remains tight-lipped, a reputable leaker known as @Silknigth has provided a potential release window for the God of War: Ragnarok PC port.
In a recent tweet, he suggested that the game might arrive on PC in the first quarter of 2025, though an earlier release couldn’t be ruled out entirely.
Perhaps a PC version, but not until the first quarter of 2025, if it arrives earlier, it’s a gift, but I doubt it. https://t.co/Gb0BEgsjBR

While the tweet from the leaker can be taken with a pinch of salt, recent various clues point to a PC port being inevitable
Clues from Job Listings and Earnings Calls
Late last year, Sony posted a job listing seeking a developer to join the team working on bringing their “emblematic IP” to PC.
While the specific game wasn’t mentioned, many speculated that it could be related to the God of War franchise.
Additionally, during Sony’s latest earnings call, Chairman Hiroki Totoki expressed the company’s desire to bring more first-party games to PC, further fueling speculation about a potential God of War: Ragnarok PC port.
Collaboration with Jetpack Interactive
Adding more fuel to the fire is a recent LinkedIn post from Jetpack Interactive, a Vancouver-based studio with a history of collaborating with Sony’s Santa Monica Studio on the God of War franchise.
The post mentions their ongoing work with Sony Santa Monica, leading to speculation that they could be assisting with either the God of War: Ragnarok PC port or a remastered version of the original God of War trilogy for PC.
More PC Port Is Coming
A few more big Sony first-party titles are slated for PC ports in 2024 and 2025:
- Ghost of Tsushima Director cut confirmed for PC on May 2024
- Until Dawn (rumored for late 2024)
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (likely in 2025)
- Horizon Forbidden West (now available)
Sony’s Release Strategy for PC Ports
Based on Sony’s previous PC port releases, it’s likely that the company will wait until all post-launch content and expansions completed for God of War: Ragnarok has been rolled out on the PlayStation 5 before bringing the game to PC.
This strategy allows Sony to maximize sales on the console platform first, and then offer a complete experience to PC players.
