The tournament organizer The ESL FACEIT Group has announced a significant partnership with MOONTON Games, the developers of MOBA game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

This collaboration aims to expand the MLBB esports ecosystem into new regions through the Snapdragon Pro Series circuit, opening up exciting opportunities for players worldwide.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has established itself as one of the most popular esports titles in Southeast Asia especially in China.

Its recent World Championship edition attracted a staggering peak viewership of over 5 million, making it the fourth-most watched esports tournament in history.

This remarkable achievement underscores MLBB’s massive appeal and the potential for further growth.

What Does This Partnership Bring to the Table?

Expanding MLBB’s Esports Ecosystem

  • Until now, MLBB’s esports presence was primarily concentrated in Southeast Asia, its most popular market.
  • With the ESL FACEIT Group’s support, MLBB will now extend its competitive landscape to Europe, Latin America, the Middle East (MENA), and North Africa, allowing players from diverse regions to showcase their skills on a global stage.

A Massive Prize Pool to Fuel Competitive Excitement

  • To match the scale of this expansion, the prize pool for MLBB tournaments within the Snapdragon Pro Series has been increased to a staggering $750,000.

Empowering Women in Esports: SEA Women’s league

  • In a pioneering move, the partnership will introduce a dedicated women’s league in the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions, featuring a prize pool of $30,000.

Sam Braithwaite, the VP of Game Ecosystems, Mobile, ESL FACEIT Group, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating,

“Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has been a global leader in mobile competition. Alongside MOONTON Games and Qualcomm Technologies, we’re looking forward to delivering more ways to play MLBB through the Snapdragon Pro Series and our new inclusivity initiatives.”

The ESL FACEIT Group has also recently partnered with SUPERCELL to expand the Snapdragon Pro Series’ Brawl Stars tournament, further diversifying the offerings and catering to a wider range of mobile gaming enthusiasts.
