Destiny 2 Collaborates with Mass Effect: Added New Cosmetics and More Content

Bungie’s live service FPS Destiny 2 has launched an exciting new crossover with Bioware’s beloved Mass Effect franchise.

This collaboration brings free and paid cosmetic items to Destiny 2, allowing players to deck out their Guardians in N7 armor and other goodies from the Mass Effect universe.

Destiny 2 x Mass Effect Crossover

What Free Content Can You Get in the Destiny 2 x Mass Effect Crossover?

For a limited time, all Destiny 2 players can claim the Alliance Requisitions Bundle completely free of charge.

This pack includes:

  • Enhanced Defense Ghost Shell – A Ghost Shell inspired by Mass Effect’s Alliance military
  • Alliance Scout Frigate Ship – A ship for your Guardian inspired by the Systems Alliance
  • Alliance Drop Ship Sparrow – A Sparrow inspired by the UT-47A Drop Shuttle

These cosmetics offer a ton of Mass Effect flavor at no extra cost, letting you show your fandom through your in-game accessories.

What Paid DLC is Available in the Destiny 2 & Mass Effect Crossover?

In addition to the free bundle, the in-game Eververse store has several paid cosmetic items:

  • N7 Titan Armor Set – Titan armor inspired by Commander Shepard
  • Vakarian Hunter Armor Set – Hunter armor inspired by Garrus Vakarian
  • Shadow Broker Warlock Armor Set – Warlock armor inspired by Liara T’Soni

These full armor sets each cost 2,000 Silver, or approximately $20.

For players looking to further customize their Guardians, the Eververse store also offers:

  • Omni-Strike Finisher – Biotic-themed finisher inspired by Mass Effect abilities
  • Flux Dance Emote – Holographic dance emote inspired by Mass Effect’s omni-tool tech

The finisher costs 1,000 Silver and the emote 1,200 Silver. These Mass Effect items are only available for a limited time.

No Mass Effect Crossover Event – But More Crossovers May Be Coming

Unlike previous Destiny 2 crossovers like The Witch Queen, there is no limited-time Mass Effect event or activity.

This collaboration seems to be cosmetics-focused.

However, it does continue an apparent trend of Destiny 2 incorporating elements from popular gaming franchises.

Earlier crossovers brought items and events themed around Halo and The Witcher 3.

Could more video game crossovers be on the horizon? Potential candidates that come to mind include DOOM, Cyberpunk 2077, and even Fortnite

We’ll have to wait and see what other pop culture nods make their way into Destiny 2.

Fixes and Upcoming Content

Aside from the shiny new Mass Effect goodies, Destiny 2 also received some bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements with the latest update.

Bungie addressed issues with certain swords and Warlock abilities.

Looking ahead, excitement is building for the next major expansion – Lightfall, coming in 28th February 2024

After Lightfall, The Final Shape expansion is expected to conclude the Light and Darkness saga in June 2024.

Former Destiny 2 director Joe Blackburn called The Final Shape one of his proudest career achievements before departing Bungie.

This will continue the epic story campaign about confronting The Witness and the looming threat of The Black Fleet.

Inspired by Commander Shepard, Garrus Vakarian, Liara T'Soni and the Systems Alliance, along with accessory items available for all players at no cost.
