The Apeiron Nova Tournament is a high-stakes esports competition featuring top web2 and web3 players from around the world.
It’s hosted by a partnership between the game’s creators Foonie Magus, esports platform Talon, and United Esports.
What is Apeiron, and What Makes It Unique?
Apeiron is a hybrid “god PvP game” that blends elements of roguelites and battle arenas, reviving the classic god simulation genre popular in the early 2000s.
With over 50,000 Daily Active Users (DAU), Apeiron is a casual competitive hybrid mobile game where players command a godly avatar to convert their planet’s inhabitants (Doods) into followers, summon extraordinary miracles to shape their worlds, and engage in card-based combat against the forces of the Mad God Chaos.
Built on the Ronin blockchain (Ethereum gaming network), Apeiron allows players to own and upgrade NFT assets via an in-game marketplace, making it the world’s first NFT-based god game on the Ronin Network.
How is the Tournament Structured?
The Nova Tournament consists of two separate conferences (events) – one for Western players (Americas) and one for Eastern (Asia).
Each conference hosts eight elite competitors in a double-elimination bracket format.
The western event is scheduled for April 4-6, while the eastern event runs April 11-13.
Matches are a best-of-one or best-of-three format depending on the round.
Who Are Some Notable Competitors?
For the Western Conference, big names like Rdu, Ralo, Orangie, and Brycent will be competing.
On the eastern side, the roster includes skilled players like 1437, Deathsie, Raiden, and Yellow Panther.
What’s the Prize Pool?
The total prize pool for both conferences is a hefty $30,000, split evenly between the East and West events.
