Recently Bethesda Game Studios has announced one of the biggest updates yet for its RPG – Starfield.
The update rolls out at the end of January with supposedly over 100 fixes and improvements to notable quest bugs, graphics, and other issues.
When Will the Update Release?
Starfield players on Steam will get first-hand on these new fixes.
First, the Beta update will hit Steam on January 17 (Just a day before Xbox Developers Direct).
14 days later, Bethesda will release a full update for all platforms.
What Quest Bugs Will Be Fixed?
Released in September 2023, many called it the best Xbox game ever produced.
Though you enjoying Starfield, a few bugs are ruining the game.
That is why even after the initial positive response game player counts fall.
And one of them is quest bugs.
After the release of one month, this bug came to light.
The bug does not let any players progress or complete the missions.
That’s why many of these Quests become tedious and unbeatable.
What Other Improvements Are Planned?
Other than quest bug fixes, this update will also improve game stability and graphical quality, including:
- Widescreen support
- Improved textures
- Better “sun disk geometry,
- planet ring shadows”
- A fix for the annoying bug where you hatch your ship is marked as “Inaccessible.”
- pet asteroid’ bug
Is This Just the Start of Starfield Improvements?
Yes!
Back in December, Bethesda announced that they are listening to the fans and will provide regular updates onward.
This also includes official mod support for Starfield.
So while this end-of-January patch focuses mainly on squashing bugs, more substantive changes are likely coming very soon.
Given the rocky launch state of Starfield, Bethesda is positioning 2024 as a year for major improvements.
Will this patch set the space RPG on a trajectory toward redemption or will it disappoint just like the initial release?
Let us be hopeful!
