After months of leaks and rumors, Epic Games has finally confirmed that Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo are bringing more turtle power to the battle royale.
History of TMNT in Fortnite Hints at Exciting Crossover
Way back in August 2023, dataminers uncovered files suggesting the pizza-loving mutants would be surfacing in Fortnite.
More evidence came when manhole covers appeared around the map.
During Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1’s Winterfest, players did get some TMNT skins to play as the heroes in a half shell.
But rumors persisted that even more TMNT content was on the way.
On January 24th, leaks indicated Shredder would join the fight, reportedly as part of a bigger TMNT event.
With the TMNT having a long history in Fortnite, all signs point to an epic crossover.
What Will the TMNT Event Include?
Details are still murky on exactly what Fortnite’s next TMNT event will entail.
But fans think it will be mini-pass events like the Star War mini-pass event that cost 1,000 V-Bucks to gamers.
Fortnite teased the event with “Hit the Sewers” post and an April O’Neil questline on February 3 on the official X account.
Quests will award XP, likely leading up to the event that will start on February 9.
Fortnite has already offered skins for the four turtles in the item shop: Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael.
A Shredder outfit seems very likely, given the timing of the leaks.
Other characters like Bebop and Rocksteady may also make appearances.
This could involve tracking down Shredder and foiling the Foot Clan’s latest scheme.
Of course, Epic Games has yet to reveal anything officially.
The event could simply be new skins and cosmetics.
But with the TMNT’s rich lore, here’s hoping for exciting new game modes and challenges!
