Sony finally unveiled the full lineup of games coming to PlayStation Plus Premium and Essential on February 20, treating RPG fans to a stellar month.
13 games will hit the subscription service on February 20, with several acclaimed RPGs from Bandai Namco’s beloved Tales series.
But the highlight is undoubtedly The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition, Obsidian Entertainment’s acclaimed sci-fi RPG.
The Outer Worlds Brings Choice-Driven Adventure to PlayStation Plus
The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is the complete version of the original RPG that launched in 2019 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
But 2023’s Spacer’s Choice Edition added next-gen upgrades like 4K, 60FPS, and DLC expansions for the Next-Gen console Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
This choice-driven RPG takes place in a dystopian future where megacorporations control everything.
Players journey across the colonies of the Halcyon system, intervening in conflicts and making narrative-shaping decisions.
While less sprawling than Bethesda’s Starfield, The Outer Worlds’ focused approach makes each choice feel impactful.
With strong writing and extensive roleplaying options, it’s one of the best RPGs in recent memory.
Obsidian is now an Xbox Game Studios developer, so The Outer Worlds is on Game Pass also.
But PlayStation RPG fans shouldn’t overlook this edition before the 2023 sequel.

Tales of Vesperia, Arise, and More Join the Service
In addition to The Outer Worlds, February 2023 brings several Tales Of RPGs from Bandai Namco to PlayStation Plus Premium/Extra:
- Tales of Arise (2021)
- Tales of Zestiria (2015)
- Tales of Vesperia (2008)
- Tales of Symphonia (2004)
These real-time action RPGs offer anime-style adventures, so they should appeal to JRPG fans.
Tales of Arise is the newest entry, while Symphonia and Vesperia are classics.
Between these and The Outer Worlds, February is packed with roleplaying.
