Swedish developer, Hazelight Studios, recently celebrated a major milestone for its popular co-operative action adventure game It Takes Two, announcing that the game has sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
The studio shared this news on X, expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans for their overwhelming support. “You’re the best fans in the world,” Hazelight posted, thanking the millions of players who have embraced the game’s unique journey with Cody and May.
A Remarkable Journey
It Takes Two has come a long way since its launch in March 2021:
- Initial Release: PC, Xbox, and PlayStation
- Nintendo Switch Release: November 2022
- First Million: Sold in just one month after launch
- 5 Million: Reached within the first year
- 10 Million: Achieved in two years
- 16 Million: Hit in March 2024
- 20 Million: Announced on October 16, 2024
