Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has been announced as the exclusive esports titles for women’s competition for the upcoming Asian Esports Games (AEG) 2024.
The event, scheduled for November 25-27 in Bangkok, Thailand, marks a significant milestone in competitive gaming’s push toward greater inclusivity.
What Makes This Tournament Historic?
For the first time in esports history, 20 regional women’s teams from diverse geographical regions – including Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East – will compete in a major international tournament.
Notable teams will come from countries with established esports communities, such as Thailand, Indonesia, China, and the Philippines, while emerging teams from Mongolia, Tajikistan, and Nepal will also make their debut.
Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games, highlighted the importance of this event:
“The representation of 20 regions in the MLBB women’s tournament exemplifies our commitment to diversity.”
