Apple has unveiled its comprehensive list of the most downloaded applications and games across its digital platforms for 2024, showcasing fascinating trends in user preferences and digital entertainment choices.
Monopoly Go franchise secured four positions (in iPhone free/paid and iPad free/paid) thanks to different adaptations from developers Scopely and Marmalade Game Studio.
In the free iPhone games category, casual gaming continues to dominate with titles like “Block Blast!” leading the pack, followed closely by “Monopoly Go” and survival-themed “Last War: Survival.” The evergreen “Roblox” and “Brawl Stars” maintain their strong presence in the gaming community.
When it comes to paid iPhone games, “Minecraft: Play with Friends” maintains its position as a favorite, while creative platforms like “Geometry Dash” and party game “Heads Up!” continue to attract paying users. The diversity in this category demonstrates users’ willingness to invest in quality gaming experiences.
The free apps segment reveals interesting patterns in user behavior, with shopping app “Temu” surprisingly outperforming tech giants. AI-powered ChatGPT and social media platform Threads have also captured significant user interest, while essential tools like Google Maps and communication apps like WhatsApp remain steadfast in their popularity.
iPad users show distinct preferences, with educational and creative apps gaining more traction. The paid apps section for iPad is dominated by creative tools like Procreate and Procreate Dreams, highlighting the tablet’s role as a creative platform.
Apple Arcade, the company’s premium gaming service, presents a diverse mix of offerings. From the charming “Hello Kitty Island Adventure” to the sports-focused “NBA 2K24 Arcade Edition,” the platform caters to various gaming preferences.
