Square Enix has officially announced that the beloved RPG series Octopath Traveler has surpassed five million units in combined shipments and digital sales across Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II.
To celebrate this milestone, Square Enix shared a commemorative illustration featuring Alfyn and Partitio joyfully cheering together. This stunning artwork was created by the talented artist Rika Okazaki.
The original Octopath Traveler was launched in July 2018 as a Nintendo Switch exclusive and introduced players to the striking HD-2D visual style. Its sequel, Octopath Traveler II, followed in February 2023, expanding the series with new stories and enhanced gameplay.
By September 2022, the first game had already achieved over three million sales worldwide. Meanwhile, by June 2023, Octopath Traveler II surpassed the one-million mark. Together, the two games added another million units to their combined total within a year and a half.
For those who haven’t experienced these captivating adventures yet, now is the perfect time. Both titles are currently available at a 50-60% discount on digital storefronts, with the sale running until January 7th.
Players can now enjoy Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II on a variety of platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In addition to the mainline games, Square Enix also released Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent in 2020. This mobile title serves as a prequel, offering fans a deeper dive into the lore and world of Octopath Traveler.
