eXTREMESLAND announces the highly anticipated return of the ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND CS2 Asia Open for 2024.
With its bold theme ‘Break limits!’, the tournament will feature 16 top Conter-Strike 2 teams across the Asia-Pacific region fighting for the massive prize pool of $100,000.
The tournament kicks off with regional qualifiers starting in September 2024 leading up to the Grand Final in mid-January 2025, which will be held in Shanghai, China.
The top 16 teams emerging from local qualifiers across:
- Vietnam
- Mongolia
- Australia
- Thailand
- China
- India
- Singapore
- Korea
- The Philippines
- The Middle East
Format:
The tournament follows an open format rather than the previous invitational, in line with Valve’s updated rulebook for Counter-Strike 2.
1) Regional Qualifiers: Local teams will compete in single-elimination matches in the first phase. The top teams advance to the second phase, which adopts a double-elimination format with upper and lower brackets.
1.1) India Qualifiers:
- The India qualifiers begin on September 20, with two phases of competition leading to a local LAN final.
- The first phase, conducted online, will use a single-elimination format to determine the top 8 teams.
- These teams will then advance to phase 2, featuring a double-elimination format with upper and lower brackets.
- The top 2 teams from this phase will battle it out in the local LAN finals for the honor of representing India at the ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND CS Asia Open.
- Registration is open until September 18th.
2) Grand Final: The 16 regional champions will battle it out in Shanghai for the championship title.
