XSET Dominates Fortnite Tournament at Esports World Cup 2024

American team XSET emerged victorious in the Fortnite tournament at the Esports World Cup 2024, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

They defeated fellow Americans Exceed 4-2 in the grand final, claiming the $400,000 top prize with 1000 club points on Sunday.

XSET’s Journey to Victory

XSET dominated the competition from the start. They didn’t lose a single map during the group stage, where all matches were best-of-five. Their flawless performance earned them the top spot in Group A and a place in the playoffs.

In the quarterfinals, XSET swept Gaimin Gladiators 4-0 on Saturday. They continued their winning streak by beating HEROIC 4-1 in the semifinals, setting the stage for their grand final victory over Exceed.

Joseph “Ritual” Mauro of XSET was named the tournament MVP, earning an additional $50,000 for his outstanding performance.

The Esports World Cup 2024 Fortnite $1 million prize pool and EWC club points were distributed as follows:

The event reached a peak viewership of 71,103 during the final match between XSET vs. Exceed.

Overall the Fortnite EWC tournament drew 780,000 total viewers with an average of 25,238 viewers across 31 hours of airtime, according to Esports Charts.
