Xbox exclusives continue to make their way to PlayStation 5, with Forza Horizon 5 officially set to release on April 29, 2025. According to reports, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may also arrive on PS5 during the same month, though an exact date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Playground Games has announced that Forza Horizon 5, originally released in 2021 for Xbox and PC, will cost £54.99 for the standard edition on PS5. Players can also opt for the premium edition at £84.99, which includes the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, along with additional content like the Welcome Pack, Car Pass, and VIP Membership. Premium edition buyers will gain early access starting April 25.
The game will also receive a new update called Horizon Realms on April 25. This update will add 11 previously limited-time locations from the game’s Evolving World updates and introduce a new track called Horizon Stadium Circuit.
However, many PlayStation fans are disappointed by the news that Forza Horizon 5 won’t be available as a physical disc. Playground Games confirmed on social media that they have “nothing planned for a physical disc release,” which has led some potential buyers to skip the purchase altogether.
As for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which launched for Xbox Series X/S and PC in December 2024, a report from The Verge suggests Microsoft is targeting an April release for the PS5 version. The report indicates there are concerns about possible delays, noting that they’re “waiting to hear if Indiana Jones is going to make Microsoft’s target of an April release on PS5.”
The Great Circle has been a surprise hit, with LucasFilm expressing interest in developing more Indiana Jones games following its success. Developers are currently working on DLC called “The Order of The Giants,” which will expand the early story of the main game and release sometime in 2025.
Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, The Great Circle uses Harrison Ford’s likeness but features voice acting by Troy Baker. Ford praised Baker’s performance, saying at the 2024 Game Awards: “I think this guy did a great job. If I’d have known he was so good, I’d have done it myself.”
If both Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones do launch on PS5 in April, some industry observers find the timing unusual. Releasing two major titles in the same month could potentially limit their individual sales performance if Microsoft is looking to maximize profits from these PlayStation releases.
Microsoft has a busy schedule ahead with several other games coming soon across multiple platforms, including South of Midnight on April 8 and Doom: The Dark Ages on May 15.
