The popular strategy game “Whiteout Survival” has hit a major financial milestone. According to Sensor Tower (formally data.ai) estimate, the game has now earned over $1 billion in revenue worldwide.

Whiteout Survival achieved this feat in just 17 months after its launch in February 2023.

This makes it the third fastest 2023 release to hit this impressive figure, following MONOPOLY GO! and Honkai: Star Rail.

Interestingly, both MONOPOLY GO! and Honkai: Star Rail achieved this milestone even faster, taking only 6 to 7 months to reach $1 billion in revenue.

What is Whiteout Survival?

Whiteout Survival is a unique 4X strategy multiplayer mobile game developed by Century Games, available on the App Store and Google Play.

The 4X in the title stands for “Explore, Expand, Exploit, and Exterminate,” which are the four primary goals players aim to achieve throughout the game.

Set in a frozen, post-apocalyptic world, players must build and manage a settlement to survive harsh conditions. They need to gather resources, construct buildings, train troops, and form alliances to compete against other players for territory and resources.

The game combines an engaging storyline with strategic gameplay, making it a standout title in the crowded mobile gaming market.

Region-Wise Performance

The game’s largest market is the United States, accounting for approximately 35% of its total earnings. This isn’t surprising given the popularity of casual mobile gaming in North America.

It followed by South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan among the top contributors to the game’s financial success.

Interestingly, Saudi Arabia ranks second in downloads after the USA, demonstrating the game’s strong presence in the Middle East.

Factors Behind the Whiteout Survival’s Success

Whiteout Survival had a slow start, bringing in just over $1 million in its first month. However, the game’s popularity has grown steadily since then.

In June 2024 alone, the game reached over $100 million in revenue, a 14% increase compared to May 2024. This trend continued in July, showing no signs of slowing down.
