The seventh week of the Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was packed with excitement as top players and teams battled it out across three major esports titles: “StarCraft II,” “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III,” and “EA FC 24.”

From August 14 to August 19, fans were treated to intense competitions and the crowning of new champions.

In the EA FC 24 tournament, João “jafonso” Vasconcelos of Luna Galaxy emerged as the champion, defeating Gabriel “Young” Freitas from Tuzzy E-Sports with a decisive 6-2 victory in the grand final.

Jafonso’s win earned him $300,000 and 1,000 Club Points.

The tournament featured 16 top players competing in a round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds, with a total prize pool of $1 million.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III: Atlanta FaZe Emerges Victorious

Atlanta FaZe claimed the title in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III tournament, defeating 100 Thieves in a thrilling Bo7 grand final with a 4-2 victory.

The team took home $600,000 from the $1.8 million prize pool.

The competition started with a group stage of 16 teams, leading to intense playoff battles.

The tournament was a major hit, attracting over 2.6 million viewers, peaking at 140,193 during the Cloud9 vs. OpTic Gaming quarterfinal. [Check Full Result]

StarCraft II: Clem’s Unstoppable Run

Clem of Team Liquid delivered a dominant performance in the StarCraft II tournament, sweeping Serral 5-0 in the grand final to secure the championship.

Clem earned $400,000 and 1,000 Club Points.

The tournament began with 16 players divided into two groups, progressing through double-elimination brackets.

The event was a huge success, with over 1.2 million viewers and a peak of 60,884 during the grand final. [Check Full Result]

What’s Next in WEEK 8?

As we move into the eighth and final week of the Esports World Cup, taking place from August 21 to August 25, the excitement continues with tournaments in Rocket League, Tekken 8, PUBG Battlegrounds, and Sim Racing.

This week will also see the announcement of the first Club Championship winner. Team Falcons are currently in the lead with 4,160 Club Championship Points, making them the strong favorites to walk away with the $7 million prize. Their closest competitor, Team Liquid, stands at 1,760 points, making it a tough race.
