Since its launch in September 2024, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has become one of Saber Interactive’s biggest successes, attracting an impressive 5 million players. Building on this momentum, the development team has recently shared their ambitious plans for 2025, promising new content and features that will enhance the gaming experience.
The game’s latest update, Update 5, has already introduced exciting additions like Operation Obelisk and The Dark Angels Chapter Pack. However, Saber Interactive isn’t stopping there. According to their official blog post, 2025 will bring several major improvements to both PVP (Player versus Player) and PVE (Player versus Environment) gameplay modes.
Coming in 2025
PVP Content:
- New close-quarters combat map
- Various PVP mode adjustments (details pending)
PVE Content:
- New horde mode
- Additional Operations
- New enemy types
- Battle Barge expansion
Character Content:
- New Salamander Champion (Sniper class)
- Custom character customization options
One of the most intriguing announcements is the introduction of a new Salamander Champion, designed as a sniper-class character. This choice marks an interesting departure from convention, as the developers noted that while the Raven Guard would have been the obvious choice for a sniper role, they decided to take a different approach. This new champion will come with various customization options, allowing players to personalize their experience.
While Saber Interactive’s roadmap outlines an exciting future for Space 2, it is important to note that specific release dates for these updates have not yet been announced.
