VSPO, Asia’s largest esports company, has officially rebranded itself as Hero Esports, to accelerate its global expansion.

Alongside this rebranding, the company announced the appointment of Dino Ying as Executive Chairman and Danny Tang as CEO, both began their roles on October 8, 2024.

Since its founding in 2016, Hero Esports (formerly VSPO) has grown rapidly, emerging as a leading player in the esports sector with a strong base of more than 800 million fans online. The company organizes over 7,000 esports matches annually and operates across 12 offices worldwide, along with eight high-quality esports arenas. Their services range from organizing tournaments to providing marketing solutions and fostering esports communities, offering a complete suite of solutions to engage fans and partners alike.

Backed by significant investors like Savvy Games Group and Tencent, Hero Esports also collaborates strategically with partners such as Kuaishou and Huya.

Headquartered in Shanghai, the company employs over 1,100 people and operates as a fully integrated provider of esports content and tournament management.

Hero Esports collaborates with leading game publishers, such as Tencent and Krafton, to host popular esports leagues like the KPL series for Honor of Kings and the PGC series for PUBG, among others.

The company has also been instrumental in producing prestigious events such as the Olympic Esports Week, the Esports World Cup, and the esports segments of both the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games and the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games. Additionally, Hero Esports is a member of the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), underscoring its commitment to maintaining high standards of fair play and integrity in the industry.

In September 2024, the company launched the Esports Asian Champions League (ACL), marking a new milestone in international esports. The ACL is Asia’s premier multi-title esports tournament, attracting top talent from across the region.

As per the press release, Hero Esports aims at ‘Empowering esports’, supported by its vision to ‘create the premier esports experience of the future’. As CEO Danny Tang stated,
