Voldex, a prominent developer in the user-generated content (UGC) gaming sector, has acquired Brookhaven, a leading life simulation game on the Roblox platform. This strategic move significantly increases Voldex’s user base, positioning it as a top developer on Roblox.
Brookhaven, introduced in 2020 by the developer known as Wolfpaq, has rapidly become a favorite among Roblox players. The game offers a virtual environment where users can socialize, roleplay, own homes, drive vehicles, and explore an open-world setting. Its engaging features have led to over 60 billion visits and more than 120 million monthly active players.
The acquisition was facilitated through recent capital raises by Voldex. According to company statements, the investment group Raine Partners led the equity financing, with additional support coming from prominent firms including Makers Fund, QIA, MIT, Tirta Ventures, and Lalotte Ventures. Debt financing was secured from Shamrock Capital, with participation from Ares Management Credit funds and Cadma Capital Partners. Following the deal, Dara Leung from Raine Partners will join Voldex’s board of directors, and Todd Rosoff will serve as an observer.
Alex Singer, CEO and founder of Voldex, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “This acquisition is transformational for Voldex. We’re honored that Wolfpaq has entrusted us with Brookhaven. We’re committed to being great stewards of the incredible world he has created and the vibrant community that makes it special.”
Wolfpaq, the creator of Brookhaven, also shared optimism about the future, saying, “I am excited for Voldex to continue building upon what makes Brookhaven fun for players worldwide, and for our dedicated fans and players to continue being whoever they want to be in Brookhaven RP.”
Voldex has a history of acquiring and enhancing popular UGC games across platforms like Roblox, Fortnite Creative, and Minecraft. Notably, in April 2024, the company acquired Ultimate Football, one of Roblox’s top-grossing titles, and later partnered with the NFL to rebrand it as NFL Universe Football. Voldex also owns Driving Empire, recognized as Roblox’s leading driving game.
With the addition of Brookhaven, Voldex’s user base now exceeds 145 million monthly active users, solidifying its position as a leading developer on the Roblox platform.
