Korean game developers are ready to make waves in 2025 with highly anticipated game releases aimed at captivating global audiences. Companies like Nexon, Krafton, Netmarble, NCSoft, and Kakao Games are launching innovative titles, reflecting their efforts to expand beyond the domestic market.
Nexon
Nexon, after celebrating its 30th anniversary last year, is gearing up to release The First Berserker: Khazan, a hardcore action RPG based on its hit title Dungeon & Fighter. Launching on March 28, the game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, targeting the Western console gaming market. A demo released recently has already built excitement among fans. The franchise has already witnessed big success with Dungeon & Fighter Mobile, generating over $1 billion in just seven months after its release in China.
Krafton
Krafton is betting on its upcoming life simulation game, inZOI. The game, set for early access on March 28, introduces an innovative “Co-Playable Character” (CPC) system developed in collaboration with Nvidia. These AI-driven non-player characters offer dynamic interactions, including real-time conversations and strategic cooperation. Alongside its ongoing success with PUBG: Battlegrounds and Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton hopes inZOI will be its next big hit.
Netmarble
Netmarble, which returned to profitability last year with successful launches like Solo Leveling: Arise and Raven 2, aims to capture the Western market with new releases. It plans to launch Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, an action RPG for PC and mobile, in the first half of the year.
Another exciting title, Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, an open-world RPG based on the popular anime, is slated for release in the second half for console players.
NCSoft
After reporting its first operating loss in 12 years, NCSoft is restructuring and introducing diverse genres. Among five new games set to launch in 2025, Aion 2 continues the MMORPG legacy, while others like LLL (third-person shooter) and Tactan: Knights of the Gods (real-time strategy) mark the company’s venture into new territories.
Kakao Games
Kakao Games plans to release nine titles in 2025, seven of which are aimed at global audiences. Key titles include Valhalla Survival (roguelike RPG), Section 13 (action shooter), and God Save Birmingham (zombie survival). The company is focusing on expanding its international presence.
