Ubisoft Forward 2024: All Announcement

Following Sony’s State of Play, Summer Game Fest, and Xbox’s Games Showcase, Ubisoft joined the fray with its own event, Ubisoft Forward 2024. Here, Ubisoft revealed their upcoming projects, showcased gameplay footage, and delighted fans with an array of surprises.

Here is everything revealed at Ubisoft Forward 2024:

Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay

One of the most highly anticipated games on the horizon is Star Wars Outlaws, and Ubisoft Forward did not disappoint.

Ubisoft unveiled the Star Wars Outlaws gameplay demo and overview trailer, showcasing the game’s diverse locations, intriguing characters, and varied gameplay styles.

This comprehensive look at the expansive universe set the stage for an unforgettable intergalactic journey when the game launches on August 30, 2024, across PC, Xbox Series, and PS5 platforms.

XDefiant Season 1

For those seeking adrenaline-pumping action, XDefiant, Ubisoft’s recently launched free-to-play first-person arena shooter, is gearing up for its first season.

Fans can expect a slew of new content, including:

  • 3 New Maps: Clubhouse, Daytona, Rockefeller
  • 3 New Weapons:  L115 sniper, Sawed-Off Shotgun, LVOA-C SMG
  • 1 New Fraction: GSK – Police theme similar to Rainbow Six Siege
  • 1 New Gaming Mode: Capture The Flag – Retrieve the enemy’s flag, bring it back to your base, and score a point for your team.

The XDefiant Season 1 will start after the current pre-season concludes on July 2, 2024, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via the Ubisoft store.

Skull and Bones Update

Ubisoft Forward revealed exciting Season 2 and Season 3 details for the Skull and Bones.

Both seasons introduce new sea lords, storylines, ships, game modes, monsters, and cosmetics.

Season 2 will be called “Chorus of Havoc” introducing:

  • New Sea lord:  Hubach twins named Arman and Bertrand
  • New Ship: The Brig – used as a warship or a smuggling vessel
  • New Monster: Latari Megalodon
  • Summer festival with new skins
  • Limited Boat Race Events
  • New game modes for solo and PvE gameplay

Season 3 called Into the “Dragon’s Wake” promises even more excitement with new content:

  • New Sea Lord: Lee Tien Ming
  • New Monster: Flying Dragon
  • New 5v5 PvP mode

Skull and Bones is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Ubisoft Connect, and Amazon Luna, with the Ultimate Edition accessible through a Ubisoft+ Premium subscription.

Prince of Persia

Fans of the beloved Prince of Persia series have plenty to look forward to!

The Lost Crown Update:

The Lost Crown is set to receive its third free content update, the Divine Trials update, offering players a new set of 22 expert challenges.

  • Revised boss battles
  • New puzzle challenges
  • New amulets
  • New outfits

These challenges are accessible through the Hall of Memorials by entering a new door in the Haven.

Moreover, the upcoming story DLC called “Mask of Darkness”, promises to expand the game’s narrative with new storylines and adventures, launching in September 2024.

The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown can be purchased for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, as well as for Nintendo Switch. It is also available on PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store.

The Sands of Time:

Ubisoft Forward also showcased the official teaser trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, slated for release in 2026, reigniting the excitement for this iconic franchise.

First announced at Ubisoft Forward in 2020, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake has encountered multiple delays during its development.

Initially led by Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, the project was transferred to Ubisoft Montreal in 2022.

Currently, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Pune, and E-Studio are collaborating on the game’s development.

The original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was released in 2003 for the Game Boy Advance, PS2, GameCube, Xbox, and Windows platforms.

The Rogue Prince of Persia:

Developers Evil Empire and Ubisoft have also announced the first major update – “The Temple of Fire” for their newly launched game, The Rogue Prince of Persia.

First announced during the Triple-i Initiative in April 2024, the game is still in Early Access on PC via Steam.

New updates will add the following content:

  • New biome, featuring new enemies, traps, and traversal challenges
  • Two new mobs, the Shielded Warrior and Duellist
  • A new weapon, the Flaming Censers
  • Meta Progression Skill Tree, which allows players to use Spirit Glimmers to unlock persistent improvement.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora DLC

For fans of the Avatar universe, Ubisoft Forward 2024 unveiled a new trailer for “The Sky Breaker”, the upcoming story DLC for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Set to launch on July 16 as part of the game’s season pass, this DLC promises to take players deeper into the world of Pandora, expanding the narrative with new content.

Here is what you see in the upcoming DLC:

  • The new region in the Upper Plains named the “Heart of the Plains” features new environments like Prism Fields, Feathered Grasslands, and Stone Rapids.
  • The new enemy types, such as the AMP Defender, equipped with an indestructible shield and a top-mounted Gatling gun, as well as RDA lieutenants in AMP Suits, offering enhanced firepower and protection.
  • The festival of the games, a celebration by the Na’vi in the Upper Plains, where you have opportunity to engage in timed challenges.
  • Increase to the rank of master crafter with the introduction of a new Legendary rarity and advance to rank 25.

The game is set to receive its second DLC by the year’s end.

The Crew Motorfest Year 2

Ubisoft has announced the Year 2 content for The Crew Motorfest, which is scheduled to begin in November 2024 with Season 5.

New content added:

  • The new island – Maui – Spanning over 100 km2, the area offers a diverse racing experience from the streets of Kahului to the expanse of Haleakalā National Park, featuring bamboo groves, volcanic sands, and cascading waterfalls.
  • The new premium PvE mode – The Chase Squad – Players will team up with a group of drivers determined to disrupt traditional racing concepts by taking down their rivals. The Chase Squad will test players’ abilities to outmaneuver their opponents in high-speed chases under the cover of night across the islands.
  • New playlist – Made In Japan Vol.2.

The Crew Motorfest can be accessed on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Anno 117: Pax Romana

Get ready to embark on an epic journey through the ancient Roman empire with Anno 117: Pax Romana, the next installment in the long-standing economic simulation and real-time strategy game series.

Slated for a 2025 release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, this game puts players in the shoes of a Roman governor tasked with managing and expanding their empire.

During Ubisoft Forward 2024, viewers were treated to a humorous live-action trailer, showcasing the absurdity of governing an ancient province where your most loyal subjects happen to be goats.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Ubisoft is breaking new ground with Assassin’s Creed Shadows,  delving into the rich historical setting of Feudal Japan for the first time.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to release on November 12, 2024, offering a balanced blend of stealth and action combat.

In this edition, players have the option to select from two primary charactersYasuke, who specializes in intense combat, and Naoe, who is centered around stealth tactics.

At Ubisoft Forward, a 13-minute gameplay walkthrough was presented, detailing the distinct gameplay mechanics and approaches to challenges that each protagonist offers within the game world.

Get ready to immerse yourself in this new adventure when Assassin’s Creed Shadows launches on November 15, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Amazon Luna.
