Tundra Esports Clinches First Major Dota 2 Title of 2025

Tundra Esports

Tundra Esports emerged victorious at FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025, securing the tournament’s top prize of $400,000 from the million-dollar prize pool. The Western European powerhouse achieved this feat through a remarkable 3-2 reverse sweep in the grand finals against Team Falcons on Sunday.

What makes this victory more impressive is that Tundra’s newly reformed roster, featuring recent additions Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov and Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov in January, has already proven their worth on the international stage. Meanwhile, Team Falcons, who took home $170,000 for second place, added another impressive finish to their record, marking their 10th top-three placement since their organizational debut in 2024.

The path to victory wasn’t smooth for either team during the tournament’s Swiss format Group Stage. Tundra faced early setbacks, losing to Yakult’s Brothers in their opening match and later to Talon Esports, bringing them close to elimination. However, they managed to secure their playoff spot with consecutive 2-0 victories over Wildcard Gaming and Gaimin Gladiators. Similarly, Team Falcons bounced back from an early upset loss to HEROIC by winning three straight matches.

The grand finals proved to be an epic five-game series that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Team Falcons initially dominated, taking the first two games in convincing fashion. The opening game stretched to 66 minutes, with Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak’s Puck and Ammar “ATF” Assaf’s Bristleback leading Falcons to victory. The second game saw an even more dominant performance from Falcons, with Oliver “Skiter” Lepko’s Dragon Knight securing a perfect score of 24 kills and 17 assists.

However, Tundra Esports turned the table with game 3, utilizing a powerful combination of heroes that included dyrachyo’s Lifestealer and bzm’s Tiny. The fourth game marked a historic moment in professional Dota 2, as Tundra achieved something rarely seen at the highest level – their gold lead exceeded the game’s duration, finishing with a 30,000 net worth advantage in just 25 minutes.

The deciding game five showcased bzm’s masterclass performance on Invoker, recording 14 kills and seven assists with just one death. Together with dyrachyo’s Morphling and Whitemon’s Phoenix, they dominated the final match with a convincing 27-5 kill score, completing one of the most remarkable comebacks in recent Dota 2 history.

dyrachyo’s masterclass performance earned him the tournament MVP title and an additional $2000.
