GSD data for the UK gaming industry has been released showing a significant decline in November month. During this period, over 3 million video games were sold in the UK, marking a significant 33% decline compared to November 2023. However, the data aggregator (via GI.Biz) primarily attributed this decline to two key factors: the earlier release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in October rather than November, and the shift of Black Friday sales data into December’s reporting period.
As a result, November’s figures may not fully represent year-over-year trends, and December is expected to show higher sales due to the delayed inclusion of Black Friday data.
Nevertheless, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 secured the top spot on the charts. In second place was EA Sports FC 25, though its sales dropped by 22% year-over-year. Even Black Friday week sales for EA’s football title were 20% lower than in 2023. Dragon Age: The Veilguard debuted at third place, but its initial sales performance fell behind several other major titles released this year.
