Thunderpick World Championship 2024: Counter-Strike 2 Tournament Schedule, Teams, Format, Prize Pool

Thunderpick, a cryptocurrency betting platform, has announced the Thunderpick World Championship 2024, in collaboration with data partner GRID, featuring a prize pool of $850,000.

The tournament kicks off on October 21 and runs through November 3. The grand finale will be an offline spectacle at the LVL Dome Arena in Berlin, Germany.

Format

The championship is structured into two intense phases:

Group Stage (October 21-25):

  • 16 teams divided into four groups
  • Double-elimination format (GSL)
  • Best-of-three series for all matches
  • The top two teams from each group advance

Playoffs (October 26 – November 3):

  • Single-elimination bracket
  • Best-of-three series for quarter-finals and semi-finals
  • Best-of-five series for the grand final

In 2023, the total prize pool was $600,000 where FaZe Clan took the top prize.
Competing teams participated in six qualifier rounds across three global regions – Europe, North America, and South America – which started in April.

The tournament boasts an impressive prize pool of $850,000 USD, distributed as follows:

  • 1st Place: $500,000 USD
  • 2nd Place: $150,000 USD
  • 3rd Place: $70,000 USD
