The mobile gaming industry celebrated its finest achievements at the second annual MOBIES Awards 2024, held on November 19 in Los Angeles. This remarkable event brought together the brightest minds in mobile gaming, from developers and esports athletes to content creators and industry innovators.
Mobile Legends Dominates the Night
Mobile Legends emerged as the evening’s biggest winner, securing three prestigious awards from five nominations. MOONTON Games’ popular MOBA title claimed the Mobile Competitive Game of the Year award and earned recognition for Live Event of the Year with its M5 World Championship. The Filipino powerhouse team Falcons AP.Bren added to the game’s success by winning Mobile Team of the Year following their victory at M5.
Indian Gaming Community Makes History
In a groundbreaking moment for Indian gaming, S8UL Esports captured the Mobile Organisation of the Year award, outshining notable competitors including Brazil’s LOUD and Fluxo, North America’s Tribe Gaming, and Indonesia’s EVOS. The organization, co-founded by gaming veterans Animesh “8Bit Thug” Agarwal, Naman “Mortal” Mathur, and Lokesh “Goldy” Jain, continued their winning streak from last year’s Global Impact on Mobile Gaming award.
Adding to India’s triumph, Payal “PayalGaming” Dhare made history as the first female gamer from India to receive an international award, winning Streamer of the Year.
Industry Innovation and Impact
The MOBIES also highlighted technological advancement and community impact. Backbone One received the Mobile Innovation of the Year award, while a Swedish YouTube streamer Tobias ‘Panda’ Näslund was honored with the Global Impact in Mobile Gaming Award. TikTok‘s influence on gaming content was acknowledged with the Mobile App of the Year award.
