Team17 Group Rebrands as Everplay Group PLC

Everplay Group PLC

Team17 Group, the developer and publisher behind the iconic Worms franchise, has officially rebranded itself as Everplay Group PLC. While the group has adopted a new identity, Team17 Digital, its well-known development and publishing division, will continue to operate under its original name. The rebrand focuses solely on the group’s brand identity and aims to eliminate confusion between the overarching group and its Team17 division.

Other key subsidiaries under the Everplay Group, such as Astragon Entertainment and StoryToys, will also retain their current names and branding.

The Worms franchise, which debuted in 1995, has been a cornerstone of Team17’s portfolio, with over 20 entries in the series. Beyond Worms, Team17 has published a range of highly successful indie games, including The EscapistsOvercookedYooka-LayleeBlasphemous, and Moving Out. These titles have cemented Team17’s reputation as a leading name in the indie gaming industry.

Aligning with Growth and Vision

The rebrand coincides with a trading update for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, which highlighted a strong second-half performance. The group attributed this growth to successful new game releases and the ongoing popularity of its back catalog. Preliminary results indicate that revenues and adjusted EBITDA will exceed initial forecasts.

Everplay Group CEO Steve Bell expressed enthusiasm for the transition, stating, “The new brand reflects how our business has evolved since the IPO. It symbolizes our mission to never stop playing and creating exceptional gaming experiences for players worldwide.” Bell added that the rebrand will promote internal collaboration and position the group for expansion into new areas of the indie gaming market.

For shareholders, the group’s trading identifier (TIDM) has been updated to EVPL as of January 24, 2025, with no changes to its ISIN. The transition to the Everplay name is expected to be fully completed by early February.
