The Taipei Game Show 2025 has wrapped up successfully, drawing a record-breaking crowd of nearly 370,000 visitors during its four-day event. The show’s business section attracted over 1,800 professionals from 43 countries, while the Asia Pacific Game Summit hosted 19 informative sessions covering the latest gaming trends.
The Summit focused on key areas including game development, marketing, AI technology, indie games, eSports, and monetization. Experts from various countries, including Taiwan, the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom, shared their knowledge. A special AI Forum, organized with the National Development Council Asia Silicon Valley Development Agency, discussed emerging technologies like generative AI and edge computing.
Throughout the event, over 350 games were showcased, drawing significant attention. Popular titles like “RATATAN” and “BrownDust2” engaged visitors with special activities.
KOEI TECMO presented “Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land” and “Venus Vacation PRISM – DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme,” while “Dynasty Warriors: Origins” released an exclusive collector’s edition, which quickly sold out. Other highlights included “PICO PARK 2” by Gemdrops and “Sofia in Exchange for Lies” by MUTAN and storynote.
Live entertainment added to the event’s excitement. Clouded Leopard Entertainment brought the Falcom jdk BAND from Japan’s Falcom, performing well-known game tracks. Cygames hosted a “Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising” tournament, showcasing strategic gameplay.
At the “Street Fighter 6” booth, a new character, Mai Shiranui, was introduced, with appearances by producer Shuhei Matsumoto and director Takayuki Nakayama. “Ragnarok Online” shared its 2025 roadmap, and “Wuthering Waves” featured interactive sessions with popular Taiwanese streamers.
Gaming competitions were another major attraction. Nintendo Switch friendship matches featured “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate,” and “Splatoon,” with participants from Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. “GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-” producer Ken Miyauchi showcased the game’s unique features in an exhibition match. The six-year anniversary event for “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six” drew enthusiastic fans, with a popular streamer kicking off the celebration.
The event also highlighted international gaming culture. The “Czech Centre Taipei” and “Korea Creative Content Agency” introduced attendees to Czech and Korean games. The Tokyo Game Show booth made its first appearance, attracting crowds with limited-edition merchandise.
The Board Game Wonderland also drew large crowds, with families enjoying tabletop games. Characters from “Cookierun Braverse: Trading Card Game” and Ultraman Arc were a hit among children. Parents took the opportunity to buy new board games for Lunar New Year celebrations. Companies offered exclusive discounts on the final day, keeping sales high until the event ended.
The next Taipei Game Show is scheduled for January 29 to February 1, 2026.
