Street Fighter 6

Capcom recently celebrated a major milestone, announcing that Street Fighter 6 has sold over four million copies since its release in June 2023. This impressive achievement comes 15 months after the game launched across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

In a statement, Capcom expressed their gratitude to the community, saying,

“Thank you for playing and for helping us reach this milestone! We hope you’re excited for the future of SF6 as we intend to release more content and hold more events!”

As of August 2024, the entire Street Fighter franchise has sold over 55 million copies worldwide, cementing its place as one of Capcom’s best-selling series, second only to Resident Evil (160 million units sold) and Monster Hunter (103 million units sold).

How Does Street Fighter 6 Compare to Previous Titles?

  • Street Fighter 2 (1991): 6.30 million copies sold
  • Street Fighter 2 Turbo (1993): 4.1 million copies sold
  • Street Fighter 4 (2008): 9 million copies sold
  • Street Fighter 5 (2016): 7.6 million copies sold

Capcom has set a high bar for Street Fighter 6, aiming for the game to surpass 10 million copies sold over its lifetime.

While it took just seven months to hit the three million mark, it has since added another million in long six months. Despite this slower pace, Capcom remains optimistic, as it’s stated in the last meaning call that the game’s sales are “in line with their expectations.”
