Valve has unveiled an exciting new feature: a chart showcasing the 100 top-played titles on the Steam Deck.
This chart offers unprecedented insight into the gaming habits of Steam Deck users, providing valuable information for both players and developers.
The list is updated daily and can be sorted by the past week, month, or year, ensuring that users always have access to the most current trends in handheld gaming.
How Does the New Ranking System Work?
While one might assume that the rankings are based solely on player count, Valve has implemented a more nuanced approach.
Lawrence Yang, a representative from Valve, explained to The Verge that the metric used to determine top-played games is “a combination of unique users and interest.”
This innovative ranking system takes into account not just the number of players, but also how prominently a game features in individual users’ play histories.
For instance, Yang mentioned that Hades 2, despite being relatively new, it has become one of the top-played games for many Steam Deck users throughout the year, lifting it in the rankings.
