Sony to Debut PS5 Pro at Tokyo Game Show 2024 Alongside New Games

After a five-year hiatus, Sony is making a grand return to the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2024, bringing with it an exciting lineup of PlayStation titles and the highly anticipated PS5 Pro.

Which Games Will Be Playable at Sony’s Booth?

Sony’s lineup for TGS 2024 is packed with both new releases and popular franchises. Attendees will have the opportunity to get hands-on experience with over ten first party and third-party games on PS5. The full PlayStation lineup includes:

  1. Astro Bot
  2. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
  3. Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
  4. Dynasty Warriors: Origins
  5. Infinity Nikki
  6. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
  7. Metaphor: ReFantazio
  8. Monster Hunter Wilds
  9. Neva
  10. Sonic X Shadow Generations

PS5 Pro at TGS 2024

The star attraction of Sony’s presence at TGS 2024 will undoubtedly be the PS5 Pro. For the first time, gamers will have the chance to experience the enhanced power of the PS5 Pro firsthand. Two dedicated booths will showcase the console’s capabilities through enhanced versions of “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” and “Gran Turismo 7“.

Sony’s Stage Presentations

Sony has also planned three days of stage presentations, each focusing on different aspects of its gaming ecosystem:

  • September 26: A spotlight on Astro Bot and a special showcase of indie games, featuring Shuhei Yoshida, the head of PlayStation Indies.
  • September 28: Panels highlighting major third-party titles like Silent Hill 2, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and Metaphor: ReFantazio.
  • September 29: A 60-minute live presentation for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach featuring director Hideo Kojima, singer Daichi Miura, and director Nicolas Winding Refn.

All stage presentations will be live streamed on YouTube and other social media platforms, allowing fans worldwide to follow the action.

Sega and Atlus at TGS 2024

Along with Sony, SEGA and its subsidiary ATLUS have also announced a strong lineup of games for TGS 2024, including:

ATLUS: Metaphor: ReFantazio (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, PC)

SEGA:

  • Sonic Rumble (iOS, Android)
  • Sonic X Shadow Generations (PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC)
  • Two Point Museum (PS5, Xbox Series, PC)

Three additional unannounced titles from Sega are also expected to be revealed.

Sega’s Partner titles include:

  • Tomb Raider I-III Remastered (Aspyr)
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard (Electronic Arts)
  • EA Sports FC 25 (Electronic Arts)
  • MySims: Cozy Bundle (Electronic Arts)
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl (GSC Game World)
  • Farming Simulator 25 (GIANTS Software)
  • Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions (WB Games)
  • Enotria: The Last Song (Jyamma Games)
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance II (PLAION)
  • Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero (Nippon Ichi Software)

A special program on September 27 will feature the latest news from SEGA, ATLUS, and their partners, with appearances from notable figures like voice actor Daisuke Namikawa and freelance announcer Saya Hiyama.

Microsoft’s Presence at TGS 2024

Sony’s biggest competitor, Microsoft, has also announced its presence at TGS 2024. Yesterday, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, confirmed the company’s participation via X.

Microsoft will present content from Xbox Game Studios, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and Bethesda.

Additionally, games from Japanese and Asian third-party partners will be featured, with some coming to Xbox Game Pass.

TGS 2024 Overview

The Tokyo Game Show 2024 is scheduled to run from September 26 to September 29. With 731 exhibitors and over 3,190 booths, it promises to be the largest in the event’s history.

Fans can attend in person at Makuhari Messe in Mihama-ku, Chiba City, Japan, or tune into live streams on YouTube and other social media platforms.
