Sony Interactive Entertainment has introduced the “Hero Project Vendor Program” to help game developers in India and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions.

This new program aims to connect emerging game studios with leading technology companies and service providers.

The Hero Project Vendor Program builds upon Sony’s existing Hero Project incubator initiatives, which already operate in China, India, and MENA.

While the original Hero Project focused mainly on providing funding, mentorship, and training to new developers, this expanded program takes a different approach by creating a network of industry partnerships.

According to Sony’s announcement, the program brings together several major technology partners including Epic Games (creators of Unreal Engine), GameMaker, Audiokinetic, Firelight Technologies, Interhaptics, WhiteMoon Dreams, Streamline Studios, and Digital Hearts Group.

Each partner offers specialized tools and support to participating developers. For example, Epic Games will provide access to their Pro Support service, giving developers direct help from Epic staff when working with Unreal Engine. GameMaker offers its intuitive development platform along with technical assistance, making it easier for studios of all skill levels to create games for multiple platforms including PlayStation.

Audio development gets special attention in the program. Audiokinetic supplies their Wwise audio engine, while Firelight Technologies provides FMOD for sound design. Both companies offer personalized support to help developers create immersive audio experiences.

The program also focused on other aspects of game development. Interhaptics, a Razer company, gives access to haptic technology SDKs. WhiteMoon Dreams brings over 15 years of combined industry experience to help with performance optimization and technical innovation. Streamline Studios offers their expertise in full-stack development, having worked on major titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Final Fantasy XV.

For quality assurance needs, Digital Hearts Group provides services like debugging, localization, and marketing support to prepare games for global markets.

The Hero Project Vendor Program has four main goals: empowering developers with industry expertise, encouraging innovation through access to advanced technologies, fostering collaboration within the development ecosystem, and building sustainable long-term partnerships.

This initiative represents Sony’s continued investment in emerging game development regions. By providing access to professional-grade tools and expertise that might otherwise be out of reach for smaller studios, Sony aims to help developers in India and MENA bring their creative visions to life and potentially reach global audiences.
